Even after more than 270 releases and almost 20 years, the Rekids label run by Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave) remains a beacon of modern, timeless house and techno. In terms of sound, Rekids spans a wide range from pared-down, hypnotic grooves to dubby house designs and intoxicating warehouse techno. Edwards has managed to develop an aesthetically coherent yet open vision of electronic club music, something reflected in the lineup for this Rekids night at Panorama Bar. Confidential Recipe is a Venezuelan-born, Bogotá-based DJ/producer whose releases are influenced by the early, jacking Dance Mania sound, Detroit electro and UK breaks. Tal Fussman is an Israeli living in Berlin who lends emotion to his propulsive club tracks through soulful synths and harmonious vocal samples. Mathias Kaden from Thuringia is releasing his “Freedom Remixes” on Rekids this month, now playing for us again after many years.
