Sound Metaphors 10 Year Anniversary Part III

Part 3 of Sound Metaphors' 10th anniversary celebrations comes with a festival-worthy program beginning at 19:00 with a live segment at Berghain. With Berlin dub techno pioneer Moritz von Oswald joining forces with Tunisian producer Azu Tiwaline, two distinct musical languages intertwine to form a new whole between tradition and avant-garde. Manchester duo Demdike Stare works with dark dub structures, fragmented samples and technoid sound research. Actress, meanwhile, is one of the defining figures of British electronic music, his sound moving between abstract club music, ambient and futuristic experimentation. The other two floors open at 23:00: Channel One Sound System, one of the UK's best-known reggae sound systems, presents conscious reggae, exclusive dubplates and infectious steppas. Floating Points combines house, jazz, ambient and orchestral composition with rare ease. Helena Hauff is known for her uncompromising, energetic sets that blend electro, acid and techno — always raw and direct, preferably on vinyl. On the Säule floor, Higher Intelligence Agency provides cozy contrasts with warm, subtle rhythms and flowing ambient textures. The British producer played a decisive role in shaping the British Artificial Intelligence sound in the mid-90s.
