Over her career, closely linked to the St. Petersburg scene, Nastia Reigel has developed an aesthetic that sees techno as a discipline of sound exploration. On her debut album Identity, released in late 2025 by Function on his label Infrastructure New York, she manifests an understanding of electronic music that goes beyond the club context. A cool, almost clinical texture meets subtle modulations and industrial nuances. In her sets, she consistently avoids striking effects, instead focusing on the precise placement of sonic elements. This contrasts with the live set at Panorama Bar by Scottish artist Neil McDonald aka Lord of the Isles. His music, released over the past decade on labels such as Permanent Vacation and Firecracker, embraces the fringes of house, ambient and electronica – warm, analog-influenced and often imbued with a melancholic expanse. His current album Signals Aligned on Dusk Delay underscores this approach with its layers of synth pads and polyrhythmic structures, designed less for quick consumption than for focused listening.
