Jessica Ekomane is a French-born sound artist living in Berlin. Her work has been featured in the German Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale and festivals including CTM and Unsound. On Cashmere Radio, she hosts the excellent monthly show Open Sources, where she combines themed traditional music and folk with contemporary experimentation. In 2019, Important Records released her debut album, Multivocal. Underlying her ever-changing and immersive soundscapes are questions such as the relationship between individual perception and collective dynamics, and the exploration of listening expectations and their social roots. KMRU is the project of Joseph Kamaru. The Nairobi-raised, currently Berlin-based artist weaves field recordings with delicately dabbed ambient sounds into dreamlike sound sculptures. His acclaimed 2020 album Peel – released on Editions Mego, the label of the late Peter Rehberg – was followed this spring by his latest album Logue.
