Desert Ghosts

In his productions, Peter M. Kersten aka Lawrence has always thrived in the sweet spot between melancholic deep house, ambient textures and subtle grooves. Released on labels such as Dial, Smallville and Mule Musik, his tracks are infused with warm sounds and layers of Fender Rhodes-inspired tones. For this second installment of Edward’s new party series Desert Ghosts, Lawrence will perform a live jam with Thomas Melchior at Panorama Bar. Melchior is a key figure in minimal house whose projects such as Melchior Productions Ltd. and collaborations with Baby Ford in the early 00s played a pivotal role in shaping the Perlon sound. His music is rooted in micro-percussive precision: the interplay of fragmented vocal samples, unobtrusive sub-bass and gently shifting syncopation creates a hypnotic pull.
